Meditation - Living a Life of Repentance
Biblical Meditation on Luke 15
One of the entry points into living a life of repentance involves understanding God’s emotions towards you. When you begin to understand the depth of his love for you and the relationship he invites you into, something dramatically shifts in our hearts. Today, we focus in on the parables of Luke 15. These parables describe God’s desire for you even while you are stuck in sin. Even the parable we normally know as “the prodigal son” isn’t about the son so much as it is about the gracious and loving Father. It’s about his enjoyment of you in the midst of your brokenness as you fight against sin in your life.
As you read, please keep in mind parables take effort on your part. Read and reread the story. Ask it questions. Dialogue with the Lord about it. Write your thoughts down. Jesus is hiding truth on purpose so that you will go find it. “It is the glory of God to hide a matter. It is the glory of Kings to search it out” (Prov. 25:2).
